Big Little Circus
Wednesday 10:15-11, ages 3-4
This preK class focuses on activities that build core-strength, tracking and sequencing abilities, as well as fostering self-confidence and cooperation skills. We will tumble, juggle scarves, spin plates, balance our bodies on objects and balance objects on our bodies- but most especially we will have a lot of active FUN! (Developmental milestones: throwing and catching, tracking and sequencing, crossing mid-lines, bimanual coordination) Register for this class.
Tuesday 4:30-6, ages 9 & up
Thursdays, 4:30-5:30, ages 5-8
An introduction and continuation of the fundamentals of a variety of circus skills, including tumbling, juggling and object manipulation, balance (stilts, balance board, circus globe), physical theater and cooperative games. In this exciting movement filled class students will develop core-strength, flexibility, and body-awareness while increasing self-esteem and social skills. After April 23 this becomes a recital class. No experience necessary, ongoing enrollment. Register for this class.
Thursdays 5:45-6:45, ages 7 & up
In this active class we will get our heart rates up as our bodies move through a series of circus games and activities designed to keep everyone moving. We will run, skip, tumble as we stretch and strengthen, all the while empowering ourselves with self-confidence and self-esteem. Ages 7 & up, no experience necessary. Register for this class.
Equilibristics & Balance
Tuesday 6:15-7:15, ages 10 & up
In this class we explore apparatus including stilts, rola bola, circus globe, and partner acrobatics. This class is excellent for dancers and athletes to increase core strength, gross-motor skills, body awareness, and spatial awareness through techniques that will improve overall performance in their specific disciplines. Activities foster positive risk taking, trust, and teamwork in a non-competitive environment. After April 23 this becomes a recital class. No experience necessary, ongoing enrollment. Beginning/Intermediate Peg Stilts
Wednesdays 4:30-5:30, ages 9 & up
Practice ground techniques including yoga poses, inversions, getting up & down, shapes, and more. Standing techniques focus on synchronized movement, choreography, dance, and navigating a variety of obstacles and terrains. Each class begins with proper falling and safety techniques before students strap in and stand up and ends with spotted falling onto mats. Stilts are provided, students must bring knee-pads. Class size is limited to 10 students. After April 23 this becomes a recital class. No experience necessary, ongoing enrollment. Register for this class.
Core Circus for Teens/Adults
In this class we will focus on strength and flexibility of body and mind. Exercises will include stretching and conditioning, light tumbling and partner acrobatics, equilibristics and balance, object manipulation, and improvisational theater technique. We will meet you at your level, and take it from there. What’s that mean? Don’t want to do a forward roll, no problem. Dying to learn a hand-stand? No problem. Think you’re uncoordinated? Think again. We will challenge you in all the right ways. The circus will meet you at your personal best and take you to the next level, whatever that may be! Register for this class.
