Imaginations soar and bodies explore in our circus skills summer programs! Defy gravity with juggling scarves, bean bags, spinning plates, diabolos and more. Turn, twist, roll and stretch through the fundamentals of circus acrobatics. Test your balance with stilts, globe, rola-bola and partner acrobatics. Bang your funny-bone using slapstick and clown games and learn one magic word! Activities will challenge and inspire all levels of experience- circus has a place for every-BODY!
June 26-20 Make-A-Circus (Ages 6 & up)
Make friends while you make a circus! Learn the skills, create the routines, choose your costume and put it all together to perform for friends and family at the end of the week.
This is a basic introduction to first-level circus skills for most ages including juggling and other manipulations, beginning partner balancing and tumbling, improvisation and physical comedy skits with a performance in mind- including costumes, sets, promo posters, "tickets", et al.
July 17-21 Spark Circus (Ages 8 & up)
An introduction to circus skills for older students, this course will challenge and inspire all participants. Students will explore the basics of juggling, plate spinning and object manipulations, along with balance and acrobatic activities including stilts, rola bola, the great circus globe and pyramids. Self-confidence and body-awareness are developed through positive risk-taking and role-acquisition. Leaders are born at the circus! No experience necessary, circus has a place for every-BODY! An exploration of equilibristics, acrobatics, and manipulation. Great for fine and gross motor dexterity, core strength, flexibility, and a whole lot of fun along the way!
This is a deeper exploration of circus skills without a "show" focus. Kids will have the opportunity to decide whether or not the week will include a final performance.
July 17-21 Stilts & Unicycles (Ages 8 & up) 12:30p-3:30p
Get up and get down with this funky circus skills camp! Kids explore the fundamentals of stilt-walking and unicycling in a small studio environment. Knee pads required for stilt-walking (we have some!) and wrist guards are recommended for unicycling.Learn to ride on one wheel and walk on two sticks! Build your confidence and self-esteem as you build your skills.
July 31 - August 4 Spark Circus Jr. (Ages 5-7)
An introduction to circus skills for younger children's learning bodies. Kids learn the basics of juggling, tumbling, and balance activities (stilts, rola bola, circus globe, partner balance) through both guided and independent exploration of equipment and fun and challenging games perfect this age group. An exploration of equilibristics, acrobatics, and manipulation. Great for fine and gross motor dexterity, core strength, flexibility, and a whole lot of fun along the way!
This is a deeper exploration of circus skills without a "show" focus. There is no performance, however on Friday families are invited to come in and explore circus skills under the guidance of their kids.
